Leicester specialist trade finisher Clinical Print Finishers has invested in a B2 Horizon AFC 566FG folder from Intelligent Finishing Systems.

“We have been looking at the Horizon range of folding machines for quite a while now and have been monitoring the development and reliability of the machines,” explains Operations Director Alan Pickles.

“I visited the Horizon HQ in Hamburg Germany last year with some of the guys from IFS and was very impressed with the capabilities of the folding machines. We subsequently put the AFC 566FG through some rigorous testing at the IFS showroom and immediately made the decision to purchase.”

He continues: “Clinical needed a machine that was not specifically for miniature work as we already have in the region of 30 miniature machines in production. Whilst most of our work is small format, we do have several B2 customers for who we produce commercial standard size work and the Horizon AFC 566FG is ideal for this, but is also capable of producing small format work if required.”

The Horizon AFC-566FG with delivery conveyor can perform a wide range of simple to very complex folding patterns. The added Horizon ED-40 Vertical stacker delivery enables it to produce and batch deliver small format folding.

Pickles concludes: “The experience of dealing with IFS, from initial enquiries and testing to purchase, installation and training, was very professional and attentive.”

Clinical Print Finishers will be showcasing a wide range of miniature finished products at PrintweekLive! March 8 to 9, Wasps Arena, Coventry and at IPEX, Birmingham NEC, October 31 to November 3.

IFS will be exhibiting the latest in finishing technologies at PrintweekLive! and IPEX. The Horizon AFC-566F will be on show at the Real Print & Finish open house, Hemel Hempstead from March 14 to 16.
