Oldham commercial and trade printer Print Right has brought booklet production in house with the addition of a Horizon SPF/FC-200A stitch/fold/trim line supplied by Intelligent Finishing Systems Ltd.

“We were sending all our booklet work out and with runs getting shorter and turnaround times faster we decided the way to remain competitive and gain greater control over costs was to add a booklet making line,” explains Director Anwar Miah who expects return on investment in few years time.

He continues: “We looked at other systems on the market, including those from Duplo, but liked the Horizon SPF/FC-200A stitch/fold/trim for a number of reasons. It was more robust, easy to set up, quick to makeready and capable of completing a number of different sizes which means we can offer more services. I also liked the user interface. It’s quick and easy to setup any one of our staff can operate it as it so automated. We also spoke to a number of users and received a lot of good feedback.”

Print Right operates a five colour Heidelberg CD 74, a Heidelberg QM 46 and a Konica Minolta Bizhub. It produces general commercial print for national and local businesses.

The 4,500bph JDF-ready Horizon SPF/FC-200A featuring a 200-programme job memory storage for instant recall, an icon-based touch-screen for job set-up, is also equipped with a 10-station VAC-Turbo 1000 PowerCollator.

Mr Miah adds: “We can offer a wider range of sizes more competitively. If someone wants just few booklets we can say yes. We will also have more capacity so we can now afford to push the service. As a result we expect the system will have paid for itself within few years.”
