Hurricane Press Makes the Right Cut with GAE-supplied Guillotine

Perfecta is used to creating a storm in the printing finishing sector with its robust build and ease-of-use so when Hurricane Press was on the look out for a high-quality guillotine it was a perfect match.

The London Perivale jobbing printer chose the Perfecta 76UC precision guillotine after seeing it in action at an open day staged by nearby printing finishing specialist GAE.

Managing director Eddie Roberts, who set up the firm 20 years ago from his garage, explained: “Our old guillotine needed replacing so when GAE held the open day I popped in and ran a job. It was exactly what we were looking for.

“ I have been to GAE before so I know then and trust the equipment they supply. It did a great job and was very well-priced compared to other machines. We looked at the Polar but the Perfecta was more convincing.”

The Perfecta 76UC is a computer-controlled high-speed guillotine offering fast job changeovers and high-quality output.

Features include menu-prompted programming, the ability to store up to 6000 cut positions within 250 programme, odd and even repeating, block repeating up to three loops, cut counter for repeat functions, clamping without cutting and inserting and deleting of programme steps.

Mr Roberts added: “It was easy to use with the touchscreen and we got to grips with it very quickly. We didn’t have the touchscreen on the previous machine and it is very simple to use. I can even run it if I have to.”

The guillotine has slotted smoothly into the operation and Mr Roberts adds: “The quality is much better and it runs a lot quicker meaning we can complete more jobs when we are busy.”
