Start Up Chooses Horizon SPF/FC200

Nurturing strong physical customer relationships and offering a high quality, flexible and cost effective service is the fundamental business ethos Sheffield commercial print start-up My Print Partners has been founded on. That service is, in part, now being delivered by a Horizon SPF/FC-200A stitch/fold/trim line supplied by Intelligent Finishing Systems Ltd.

“We felt the market was missing a quality product, with the right service at the right price,” explains Director Ian McCloskey who set up the operation with Richard Green and Richard Tims in early 2014. Collectively the trio have more than 70 years print trade experience under their belts.

“We want our customers to know they can easily speak to someone. For us the industry is about people and we want to make it people orientated again. We want customers to feel nurtured so that we can offer them their print requirements, but also support them as they look at what else they can do to make themselves stand out.”

My Print Partners operates a Heidelberg Speedmaster SM74 and a Xerox J75 and specialises in short to medium run fast turnaround general commercial work. In fact it was increasing the effectiveness of their flexible print service that prompted the investment in the Horizon SPF/FC-200A.

Explains Mr Green: “We wanted to bring in all our booklet production to eliminate the time and outsourcing costs whilst ensuring we are able to be as flexible as possible.”

The 4,500bph JDF-ready Horizon SPF/FC-200A features a 200-programme job memory storage for instant recall, an icon-based touch-screen for job set-up and a 10-station VAC-Turbo 1000 PowerCollator.

Adds Mr Green: “We are all about value for money and operate firmly by the Ronseal approach – we do exactly what we say we do. The Horizon SPF/FC-200A certainly offers that. It is robust, easy to operate, reliable, affordable and consistent. We expect ROI in less than three years.”
