Packaging and binding growth opportunities explored at IFS Bind & Pack 2023

Versatile, responsive, efficient, and cost effective binding and packaging will be showcased at IFS Bind & Pack 2023, Wednesday March 29 and Thursday March 30, at IFS’s Hemel Hempstead showroom.

Among the systems demonstrating the very latest die cutting and creasing, book binding, book trimming and laminating technologies are:

  • New Horizon RD-N4055DM Rotary Die Cutter with dual magnetic cylinder, SPC-N4055 Separator and CSD-40RD Card Stacker. The RD-4055 is designed to meet the growing demand for short run die-cut products, with the ability to die-cut, crease, perforate, slit, hole punch and round corner in one process for digital and offset printed sheets. The CSD-40RD Card Stacker can stack multiple piles of small format products such as tags, business cards and door hangers. It can also count and separate jobs and make handling and packing of products easier for the operator. The line will complete applications with cutting and creasing to show the benefits of having a dual magnetic cylinder as well as die cutting and stacking playing cards in the card stacker.

  • New Horizon BQ-500 EVA and PUR iCE Binder inline to a Horizon HT-300 iCE Trimmer with a SS-800 Stack Stream Unit and a EL-300 Elevator Lift. The Horizon BQ-500 responsively supports a broader range of run lengths thanks to its unique combination of productivity, efficiency, and operator friendly features. The line will produce single books and stacks of books trimmed at production speeds up to 1,500 books/hr.

  • Foliant Taurus Taurus 530 NG B2 laminator. The next generation of the popular SF version is a very compact and fast industrial laminating machine, constructed for non-stop work. It is equipped with a suction feeder, high speed bump separator and many options like non-sticky roller pallet stacker or Foiler.  Due to its format and performance the machine is suitable for all jobs – all kinds of digital printed sheets lamination and high volumes of offset printed sheets size B2+ lamination too. The machine maximum speed is up to 40 m/min, while performance is up to 3,400 sheets per hour of B2 portrait (white paper 200 gsm). This means the performance is 14% higher than its SF predecessor. It will run book covers for binding.

All the Horizon systems will be running iCE LiNK Enterprise and attendees will see the features and benefits it offers. They will see how it connects via the cloud to an intuitive easy to use dashboard that reports real-time production analysis for improved efficiency and profitability, remote update capabilities and scheduled maintenance resulting in less downtime. For on the go updates data can be accessed via smartphone, tablet or desktop PC and the software is designed for integration with many leading MIS systems.

Eric Keane, IFS Managing Director, explains: “The market sectors we are seeing the greatest interest in is packaging and binding. Customers are looking to expand and enhance their capabilities with affordable, versatile systems that are easy to use.  Attendees will be able to see a number of efficient market available solutions in action.”

Hour long daily group presentations will take place at 12:30 pm.

One to one demonstrations will be available between 9:30am and 12.00pm and between 2:00pm and 4:30pm. They will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
